Internal vs. External Acting – Stimulation vs. Simulation
First off, let’s start by examining the meaning of internal, external, stimulation, and simulation. It may seem obvious enough, but these four concepts are central in evaluating good acting from mediocre acting or worse, much worse... Though it may also seem obvious that good acting, like great beauty, has to come from inside to make the external shine, we’ve all seen bad acting enough to know that not all acting training is on the same page. Basically, internal means from the inside. External means from the outside. Stimulation means an act that encourages a given response. Simulation means an act that imitates the appearance of a given response.

How Serious Are You About Acting?
Many people like the idea of acting and think that anyone can do it. This is reflected in the fact that some people take ad hoc drama classes for a month or two, and believe that is enough to become a professional. The truth is acting is like any job. It requires focus and a commitment to a proper acting training. The only person that losses out by not doing this is YOU! The industry is unforgiving, and if your ability is not top notch, then believe me, they notice. This is why I created the Ultimate Acting Programme. It is a completely unique acting course. Acting and modelling- Essential Skills required
Acting is one of the most fascinating professions. Its seemingly professed nature makes people to know the intricacies of getting into an acting mode. But like every profession, acting too, specialises in hard training and extreme patience. It is not that anyone can become an actor and make himself or herself appear on television.
Method Acting: The Stanislavski Way
Something that really intreagues me as an actor is the topic of method acting. To many actors, even mentioning the very words will make their faces grimace as some actors may feel the practise totally unecessary to achieve the role or part in hand. Methof acting however is not so uncommon and there are many great actors who still practise the technique. From Marlin Brando many years ago to modern day actors like Sean Penn; the practise is still in play. I for one was always some what narrow minded when it came to method acting but after studying and employing just a few of Stanislavski's findings, I was soon to start dancing to a different beat!

The process of working on characters - believable, flesh-and-blood characters - comes early, way before you step into a role. You, the actor, will prove crucial in rounding out the screenwriter's and director's vision. Great actors bring themselves and an emotional understanding of the role that either makes or breaks a part.

How Hollywood Paws Grad and His Pet Worked Together on TV Pilot Family Man
Los Angeles, Calif. (PRWEB) December 14, 2007 -- The Los Angeles-based animal academy Hollywood Paws teaches owners to train their pets for film, TV and commercial acting. The institute's clients come from all walks of life, but rarely from inside the entertainment industry - which makes Steven Schachter's story so remarkable.
The Emmy-winning director enrolled at Hollywood Paws to train his boxer, Dyson, for the spotlight. A few months later, the two had graduated from the Paws program and Steve was offered the chance to direct Family Man, a comedy pilot for TNT starring and co-written by William H. Macy (with whom Schachter previously collaborated on the Emmy-winning TV movies Wool Cap and Door-to-Door).
Schachter cast Dyson as the family dog on the show - a rambunctious comedy about an upstanding citizen who moonlights as a cat burglar - but when he realized this substantial role would require two full-time on-set trainers he enlisted his Paws instructors, Joel Norton and Anne Gordon.
Dyson worked 12 days on the show, prepping at Sunset Gower Studios and shooting at various locations in Burbank. His scenes included a football game, a segment in which he ran with a soccer team, and another in which he accompanied the titular family on a bike ride. Numerous challenging behaviors were required of the novice canine actor, including taking direction from behind. But because Steve continued Dyson's training regimen after graduation - and because Norton and Gordon have the expertise to work with animals under the most rigorous conditions - the aspiring dog star was in peak form.
Our fingers are crossed that Family Man will be picked up and Dyson will get his big break. But no matter what happens, we know you can't keep a good dog down - especially a Hollywood Paws dog.
